A Handful Of Danger

My Dearest Danger,

You are a full hand now.

We can now say "High Danger" for a full year when we slap hands.

You are a crazy, wild, whirl-wind of thoughts, stories, ideas, and motion.

You love so many things:
  • Kittens
  • Puppies
  •  Zombies
  •  Ghosts
  •  Rainbows
  •  Glitter
  •  Princesses
  •  Horses
  •  Dolls
  •  High Fashion
  •  Chickens
  •  Riding Horses
  •  Dancing
  •  Singing
  •  Twirling

You are a force that I don't think the world will ever be ready for.

I love you Danger. Don't ever change.

Four Years Full Of Danger

November 17, 2010 11:58AM

Wesleyann Sabbath Meyer made her presence known, and it was the most perfect sound in the world.

It was five whole minutes before I got to see her after I first heard her.
Those five minutes felt more like hours.

She earned her nickname early and honestly, and she has been our Danger Baby ever since.

The Angry Midget couldn't wait to meet her new sister.

A year old, and still no teeth.

Every shoe box was a hat.

Visiting her friend Junior.

Caesar is her snuggle buddy.

Zoo Camp was a fun diversion this summer,
and got the nod of approval for next summer too.

This year she became my little frozen Elsa.

How is it possible that you are already four years old Little Danger?

Happy Birthday Darling Girl!

Danger Baby Asks The Tough Questions

Danger Baby and I went to the grocery store today. She really likes the little kid-sized carts they have there. Unfortunately for strangers, they think it's cute and talk to her.

The following is an exchange Danger Baby had with an unsuspecting shopper:
Unsuspecting Shopper: *makes small talk about items in DB's cart*
DB: *responds to questions with usual 3 year old chatter*
US: *spouse/SO walks over to her*
DB: Is that your guy?
US: Yes, that's my guy.
DB: *highly incredulous* YOU HAVE A GUY?!
US: *clearly unsure where this conversation is going to go, and looking like she wishes she hadn't started it* Yes, I have a guy.
DB: Why do you have a guy? Why do you have that guy?
US: *stutters a bit* Well, I'm not sure. I ask myself the same thing sometimes.
DB: *prepares to launch into a dissertation about why you should or shouldn't have a guy (I've heard it before, it has a surprising amount of conviction considering it comes from a 3 year old)*
Me: Ok, ok, now that you've pried into the private lives of strangers, let's move to the next aisle.

Danger Baby.

She's not afraid to ask the tough questions. Especially if you are a random stranger in the grocery store.

Gum Is Like Boobies...

The following is a conversation between Danger Baby and her dad:

Robert: *gets pack of gum out of pocket*
Danger Baby: What's that Papa?
R: Nothing *hids piece of gum in hand*
DB: Let me see!
R: *shows her his empty hand*
DB: I love gum! Gum is like boobies, squishy and yummy.

Well. I guess that clears that up.

Danger Baby Survives Her Third Year

Today is a special day.

Danger Baby has survived longer than I thought she would.  No, she's not sick. She doesn't have a syndrome that threatens her life, not really.

She just has no fear.

She embraces life and everything it throws at her, even the wildly dangerous things. There's a reason she has the nickname she does.

I loved her from the moment I saw her, and I will continue to love her as long as I draw breath.

She is my sunshine and my rain, my independant cuddler, my happy apple, my Little Miss Bossy Pants.

She is so smart. Every day, she amazes me with what she has learned.

I am so glad she is in my life, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.

Today she is three, though it has only been three years, I'm already forgetting how small she was when she was born. Thankfully, I have pictures. Lots of pictures.

Happy Birthday Danger Baby!
I love you!
